The Midwest Hybridizers group wish to Thank You for taking your time to access our new web-site.
The idea behind it came from two main pools of thought. One, we wanted to make it easy for anyone outside our territory to visit us. Two, we feel that many of our local hybridizers have begun to accomplish great things in their breeding programs and therefore have much to offer to the Daylily World in the area of New, Exciting and Northern Hardy Daylilies.
The “Northern Mecca” site is therefore a tool designed to assist you in finding hybridizers that grow what you seek and provides easy access to them in the form of phone numbers, addresses, emails, hours of operation, directions and other details to provide you with adequate information which should make your contacts or actual visits as simple as possible.
The “hub” of The Midwest Hybridizers centers in and around the Dayton, Ohio area. The furthest large city is Cleveland, a four-hour drive difference. There is also a few in Kentucky and Michigan.
Using this site will allow you to find all the hybridizers in a particular area, giving you access to more gardens in a shorter period of time. We hope you will find this site enjoyable, helpful and rewarding. Accessing individuals will allow a quick preview of their breeding program and will give you a link to their primary website where you can see more of their wonderful daylilies.
Again, the Midwest Hybridizers' Group wishes to Thank You for your time, and we encourage any comments, questions and suggestions to make this site an even more valuable one.
Peak bloom varies a bit from year to year, depending on the weather. The gardens a bit further north will often be at peak a week or so after the gardens around the Dayton area. And the gardens in Kentucky are a week or so before Dayton's. Peak bloom in the Dayton area is around July 4th...
