WCynthia and Charles Lucius moved to their Amity Road home in 2003, transforming the seven acres of lush, rolling lawn into an official AHS Display Garden. The multiple display beds now feature more than 1,600 registered daylily cultivars, selected specifically for their outstanding garden performance in this area of the country.
In 2006, Charles and Cynthia opened their commercial daylily business, Amity Abloom, where they sell daylilies to the public. In 2011 Amity Abloom is open on Saturdays, from June 18 through August 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (or by appointment). Bloom season typically starts in early June and extends through the end of August – with peak bloom around the week of July 4th.
Charles and Cynthia are members of the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS), the Metropolitan Columbus Daylily Society, and the Midwest Hybridizers’ Group. They are co-chairs of the 2012 AHS National Convention, which will be held in Columbus July 11-14, 2012.
